Jonathan Meese's pictures, drawings, collages and texts are populated with a large variety of hermetic figures. As St. Heideggerz, Martin Heidegger is for the artist one of the key figures in this 'game', which he also refers to as the food chain. At an early stage the black and white pictures taken of the philosopher in Todtnauberg in 1968 by photographer digne Meller Marcovicz appear in Meese's installations and artists' books.
