Grizedale Arts brought 13 artists to Japan to perform in live events at the Ikebukuro West Gate Park and East Ikebukuro Central Park as part of the Tokyo Ikebukuro International Art Festival. The art festival is related to the Echigo Tsumari Art Triennal 2006 in Niigata by Grizedale Arts Events, which also gave the chance to communicate between urban and rural country side of Japan.

For one month seven of the artists lived and worked in the aging rural hamlet of Toge. Reenacting Akira Kurosawa┬┤s film "The Seven Samourai" to help the villagers promote their local products and traditions and empower then in the face of cultural change.
