Branch Street

Branch Street is a portrait of a gang of children living in one of London's slum streets. The author describes in a straightforward way her lively, shocking and touching experiences with the children, whose spare time she shared. She does not attempt to withhold from the reader the amount of distrust, despair, indecency and hardship she has seen. This is an amazing revelation of how some children spend their leisure hours. In the group we can see all the features of the "problem family" of today and tomorrow.
